Adding Positions – The Basics

When synchronizing from your brokerage, your position details are imported. Then, TradeStops displays them on your Positions & Alerts page.

With manual portfolios, you must add your positions yourself. There are two methods for adding your positions this way-simple and advanced.

Simple Mode allows you to enter basic position information and set an alert in one window. TradeStops Plus, Premium, and Lifetime subscribers could also apply an alert template to the position.

Advanced Mode is helpful if you want more control over your entry. It allows you to see information such as corporate actions before even adding the position to your portfolio. Advanced mode is particularly useful for adding options, especially if you are trying to add your expired options.

We will go over adding positions and options using both simple and advanced mode.
