We’ve hinted at some exciting updates to the TradeStops program coming your way. While it’s still a few more days until the release comes out, we just couldn’t wait any longer to share the updates with you. Today, you’ll get a glimpse at the upcoming TradeStops updates. We think you’re really going to enjoy all the feature enhancements.

A Whole New Look

On TLC’s popular fashion show, What Not to Wear, style gurus gave complete makeovers to the fashionably-challenged. Post-makeover, many of these people felt much more confident, empowered, and assured.

While the current TradeStops isn’t fashionably-challenged, we identified some key areas where we were able improve usability and workflow. This will allow you, the investor, to feel more confident, empowered, and assured in your investing journey with us.

Here’s just a quick glimpse of what the new TradeStops Dashboard will look like.

basic overview of the TradeStops Dashboard

Just know that there’s more to this Dashboard than what we’re able to show in the screenshot above. Plus, there’s a plethora of other great updates.

Below, you’ll find a link to a fantastic five-minute video created by Marina Stroud, our Product Education Specialist, that covers all the updates to the TradeStops program.

We know that some of you prefer to read about our updates. So, below, you’ll find a guide that covers many of the updates to the program.

No More Research Tab, But Don’t Worry

As the title of this section suggestions, there’s no longer a research tab inside TradeStops. But don’t worry! We haven’t removed any of the research tools; they’re just located in more convenient locations now.

At the top of the screen, there are several different options to select from to access your favorite research tools.

new TradeStops carousel

This new menu is called an action carousel. You can click on the different items to complete various actions like building a portfolio, tracking your investments, and so much more. This action carousel scrolls to the left and right, so make sure to review all the available options once we release the product updates.

Portfolio Widgets

We’ve also made finding information about your portfolio’s performance even easier. At the top of the screen, you can select the portfolio you’d like to view. From there, we’ll provide you with some basic portfolio information – like positions in the SSI Green Zone, Portfolio Volatility Quotient (PVQ), Value, Total Gain, and Daily Gain.

Below that, there are four portfolio widgets. These widgets are little boxes with useful information about your portfolio.

portfolio widgets

You can look at portfolio distribution, your portfolio’s performance in the market, top winners and losers for your portfolio, and any recent events for your portfolio.

In each of these widgets, there are various action items you can complete, like clicking a ticker for more information, accessing Pure Quant, adding a 2VQ alert, and much more.

General Widgets

Below the portfolio widgets are also some general widgets.

general widgets
  • Trending Stocks — see what TradeSmith customers are searching for in TradeStops
  • My Watchlist — see the stocks that triggered entry signals most recently from your watchlists
  • Newsletter Recommendations — see the most recent recommendations from your newsletters
  • TradeSmith Insights — see the latest editorials from TradeSmith and his team
  • Help Center — access our Knowledge Base and helpful webinars to get started

What Else is New?

We’ve also made searching for a ticker much easier. At the top of the page, we’ve added a search bar. Simply type in the ticker symbol you want to research, select it from the drop-down list, and you’ll be brought to the newly improved Position Card Page.

Here, you should notice some new options. Up top, you can see the number of positions you have in a single trade. In the example above, we would find Apple in four of our portfolios. Below that, there are several tabs. You should be familiar with general statistics, fundamentals, corporate actions, and the chart settings. The new tabs let you see stop-loss strategies and whether or not the position qualifies for any of our Ideas by TradeSmith strategies.

In the upper right corner, there are two new buttons. You can add the position to a watch portfolio and calculate a position size.

The Position Size Calculator has new options, too.

There are three options now for position sizing. You can look at a single investment on its own, the position as a risk percentage of your portfolio, or equal position sizing. You can also add the position to a watch list using the green button at the bottom of each option. (One note: The numbers in the image above are for illustration purposes only and do not depict actual results.)

Finally, the process for adding positions manually in a new portfolio is now easier. From the portfolio tab, you’ll click Add Portfolio. Then, you can select Add Manually.

Once you’ve selected this option, a form will appear.

Simply fill out the form. You’ll give the portfolio a name, choose its type, and enter the stock information. It’s OK if you don’t know the Entry Date or Entry Price. You can come back and add that information later.

Bulletin Board
