We’re excited to announce that we are about to release the most incredible updates to TradeStops in a few weeks — and want to give you access to the first of many new features now!

One of our goals is to continually brainstorm ways to make our programs easier to use, and more valuable to you. We conduct surveys, talk to our customers at conferences, and have round table discussions with the product team — all in an effort to find ways we can improve.

To that end, we’ve been very busy behind the scenes, and we have some great news about innovations coming to our flagship program, TradeStops. New this week is a feature our customers have asked for — and we believe you will find it very helpful.

Beginning today, you’ll have the option to configure “Consolidated Alerts.” Some of our Platinum members have already tested this feature, and the early reviews are very encouraging.

If you’re monitoring several stocks or have more than one watch list created, you know that when cyclical market or corporate events affect the movement of multiple stocks, you could get several “separate” alerts at once – or over a short time period. That can be difficult to manage.

With Consolidated Alerts, you now have the option to receive all your alerts in single or grouped reports. That way, alerts are all grouped together in one convenient location. You can configure Consolidated Alerts under Alert Settings. Click on your name in the top right-hand corner of your program and this will produce a drop down box where you will select “Settings.” Then click on “Alerts” in the menu on the left side of the page.

Under My Alert Settings, you will find the Alerts Consolidation options. By default, the drop down menu is set to Individual notifications. This is the alert setting that you’re used to, where you will receive a separate email for each alert that is triggered.

As we mentioned, this can get hard to manage. That’s where Grouped reports and the Single report can really help you.

Grouped reports will still send you multiple emails, but it’s drastically reduced. Alerts will be sent to you in batches, based on when we receive closing prices from our data providers. This means you’ll receive a maximum of four grouped emails per day, with U.S. data usually delivered later in the day.

You can also opt to get one, big single report. This will aggregate all your alerts and put them in one big email. Be aware that you won’t receive this report until we have received all the closing prices from our data provider.

This is just one of the great new features coming to TradeStops. There are others planned (very soon) that we can’t wait to tell you about. You’ll hear about all the new program enhancements in upcoming issues of the Insider, so stay tuned.

Bulletin Board

Playing it safe in the market might sound boring, but it can help you avoid the pitfalls of survivorship bias. TradeSmith explains in his latest editorial how to protect yourself and survive in the markets.

Just as it’s important to see your alert notifications, it’s also important to see the performance of your positions in the stock market. Our TradeStops position views can help you with this. Whether you invest for dividends or growth or whatever else, our position views can show you the most vital information for your investing style. Join us on May 8, at 1 p.m. Eastern, to learn all about position views.

As some of you may know, the TradeSmith educational team held our inaugural bootcamp training a few weeks ago. It was great getting to work with everyone. To garner feedback, we hosted a follow-up survey on what went well and where things could be improved. One survey respondent was chosen at random for completing the survey. Congrats to John McGraw for winning a $25 Amazon gift card and thank you for assisting us in our continued education endeavors.

Looking to the Future

We’re always excited to bring you new TradeSmith updates. The consolidated alerts feature can really help you manage your alert information. This way, you won’t miss a critical entry or exit signal. It also can help prevent our emails from being marked as spam.

If you need any help setting up your consolidated alerts, please let our team know. We’re always happy to help you. Our email address is [email protected]. We can also be reached Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern.

And, as we mentioned, more exciting product updates are coming. We think you’re really going to like them. Future Insider updates will cover all the upcoming feature enhancements. We just can’t wait to share them with you!

Until next week,

TradeSmith Customer Success Team
