Happy (early) Thanksgiving TradeSmith Family,
As the Thanksgiving holiday nears, we here at TradeSmith are thankful for you and we hope that you and yours have a fantastic holiday. As an early Thanksgiving treat, we’re sending you this Insider Update early.
Today, we’ll cover another new feature found inside Ideas by TradeSmith. We’ll also cover a little tip inside TradeStops and Crypto by TradeSmith that could really help you with your alerts.
Ideas by TradeSmith
The markets have been volatile lately; there is no disputing that. But, some markets are performing better than others. Deciding which market is performing well could be difficult, but Ideas by TradeSmith can help you.
We’ve expanded our Market Outlook center to include several new markets including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, the Russell 1000 & 2000, and the United Kingdom. For each of these markets, we’ll show you the overall SSI health of the market.
In the photo above, you can see the Dow 30 and Russell 1000. Although the overall Market SSI is stopped out, the SSI distribution could help us decide which market would be best for us, by showing a chart of many sectors within each market as green, yellow or red. For our example, we’ll click the Dow 30, which will bring us to the Health Card for the Dow 30.
This Health Card provides a plethora of information, but we’re going to focus on the enhancement to the SSI distribution.
Below the SSI distribution color wheel, there are three color-coded boxes corresponding to the wheel above. These boxes contain binoculars for most of the markets. If you click the binoculars, you’ll be brought to the Stock Finder for that color in that market. So, if we clicked the green SSI box, we’d be brought to the Stock Finder for green positions in the Dow 30. It’s a neat feature that can help you find positions that are performing well despite the recent market volatility.
TradeStops & Crypto By TradeSmith
We developed TradeStops and Crypto by TradeSmith to help you be a more well-informed investor. Part of that includes sending you alerts for changes in the market. We know, though, that it can sometimes be difficult to set up the alerts, especially if you’d like to have multiple alerts on one position. That’s where Templates come in.
Within both TradeStops and Crypto by TradeSmith, you can set up customized alert templates. All you need do from within the program is click your name in the top right corner and then select Templates. From this template screen, you can click Add Template to begin creating new alert templates.
When you select the Add Template option, a menu will appear. Select which alerts you’d like to have in your template by clicking on them. Then, click Add Alert. All your selected alerts will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Once you’ve selected all the alerts you’d like to include, make sure to name and save your template. Now, when you add positions in the future, you can apply that template with your customized alerts.
In observance of Thanksgiving, the TradeSmith office will be closed from 3 p.m. today through Friday, Nov. 23. Due to this, our dedicated Customer Support Team will be unavailable and our regularly scheduled emails will be put on hold. No need to worry, though! We’ll be back on Monday, Nov. 26, delivering great customer service, content, and education you’ve come to expect.
If you need some assistance over the holiday, please make sure to utilize our Knowledge Bases. They’re full of guides that can help you.
