At TradeSmith, we’re always seeking new ways to help you succeed as an investor. That’s why we regularly update and innovate our products. Our latest update was a big one. Have you noticed it? We’ll give you a hint — it’s in Ideas by TradeSmith.
We’ve added a dashboard to Ideas just like the one you may be familiar with in TradeStops. It’s chock full of useful information — everything from the status of the markets to stock analysis to great stock-finding filters.
Today, we’ll cover all the new features found in the Ideas by TradeSmith dashboard. We think you’re really going to like it.
The Ideas by TradeSmith dashboard helps you get a quick sense of how things stand in the market. We’ve broken this dashboard into multiple sections to make the data easy to analyze and understand.
At the top of the page, you’ll find the various indexes that we support. You can scroll through all the supported indexes by clicking the small arrows on the far left and right sides of the index names.
Below that, you’ll find two sections: Market Health and Trending Stocks.
Market Health covers the overall status of the markets, S&P sectors, and commodities.
You can switch between the markets, sectors, and commodities by clicking the tabs at the top. The active tab that you’re viewing will have a blue line under it. So, in the screenshot above, we’d know that we’re looking at the market outlook.
Each tab displays a pie chart, showing the overall distribution of markets, sectors, or commodities that are in the Stock State Indicator (SSI) red, yellow, or green zone. We further break this down with a key to the right of the pie chart that shows the individual status of the components within that grouping and helps you get a sense of how things are performing.
The Trending Stocks show you the top seven stocks that people are researching within TradeSmith.
You can click these ticker symbol to view the Position Card page for each position. You can also see how many newsletters and strategies each ticker qualifies for. If you click the hyperlinked number, you’ll see exactly which newsletters or strategies correspond to the ticker.
Keep in mind that the trending tickers are for data purposes only. They do not indicate a TradeSmith recommendation or endorsement; please also note that the list is updated every two hours.
Below Market Health, you’ll find Dr. Smith’s Lab Recent Results.
This screen will show you a list of tickers that have recently met Dr. Smith’s strategy requirements.
You can click each ticker to view the Position Card Page for that position. We’ll also show you which strategy the position recently met, along with the reference date.
To the right of this, you’ll find Newsletter Recent Recommendations. This will function much the same way as Dr. Smith’s Lab, showing tickers that have recently been recommended by your newsletters.
Below that, you’ll find the Stock Finder saved Filters.
Clicking one of these pre-saved filters will bring you to the Stock Finder and apply specific filters.
By default, there are three pre-saved filters that Dr. Smith and his team have developed.
- All Dr. Smith Lab Results — Select all positions from Dr. Smith’s Lab and sort them based on days in SSI state.
- Billionaire Bargains — This filter looks at positions held by Billionaire investors that are also part of the Low Risk Runner Strategy, in the SSI Green or Yellow Zone, and trending sideways or up based on the SSI Trend. The results will be sorted based on days in SSI state.
- Green Profitable Dividend Growers — Positions resulting from this filter must meet the Dividend Growers strategy requirements and must have a PE greater than 0. The results will be sorted based on days in SSI state.
As you add your own personal filters, they will also appear in this section. In the screenshot above, you can see the custom “SSI Green VQ < 40” filter has been added. You can add your own custom filters from the Stock Finder. Green Profitable Dividend Growers — Positions resulting from this filter must meet the Dividend Growers strategy requirements and must have a PE greater than 0. The results will be sorted based on days in SSI state.
