Hello again, TradeSmith subscribers,

We hope all has been going well for you this week. The TradeSmith team has been hard at work to release a great feature in TradeStops. We think you’re really going to love it.

Today, we’ll cover that new feature along with a useful feature inside Ideas by TradeSmith.

Let’s get started!

TradeStops

In TradeStops, we released our dashboard to everyone. A big thank-you to all who beta tested and provided feedback.

You can find the dashboard on the Welcome tab in the top black menu of TradeStops. On this dashboard, you can see:

  • Your portfolio’s performance
  • Your recently triggered alerts
  • Your top winning and losing stocks
  • The most recent editorial or educational research
  • Some quick links

The portfolio performance area is an interactive chart. In the top-left of this chart, you can click the drop-down box to select the portfolio you’d like to view. Below that, you can click to select the indices that you’d like to compare your portfolio to.

In the screenshot above, note we have selected “All Investment.” This means we’re viewing all the investment portfolios that we have.

Comparing your entire portfolio’s performance against the entire market is a good way to get a sense of your overall performance in an unbiased way.

The recently triggered alerts to the right of the interactive chart are very informative! We know that you likely receive many, many emails throughout the day; it’s easy to miss an alert from us on one of your investments. So, we’re making it easy for you to check for alerts you may have missed.

We’ll show you the ticker, the state it’s in, the alert that it triggered, and the portfolio it’s located in.

Note that this area will not show all the triggered alerts that you have, but it will show the five most recently triggered alerts.

Knowing your alerts can help you stay aware of specific changes in the market to help you “make more and risk less.”

Below this area, you will find your top five winning and losing stocks. This area is a fantastic resource for knowing which investments are performing best for you and which are draining your profits.

Ideas by TradeSmith

In Ideas by TradeSmith, you can use the Market Health tab to check the overall SSI status of the markets and the sectors.

Within the Market Outlook, we provide the overall status for the:

  • S&P 500
  • DOW 30
  • NASDAQ 100
  • S&P 400
  • S&P 600

This can help you get an overall feel for how the entire market is performing.

Knowing the overall health of the market could help you decide if investing in the S&P 500 would be best for you or if perhaps the DOW would be better.

The sector health area will show you how the individual sectors are performing in the market. It also shows you the SSI distribution of the stocks within the sectors.

For example, in the screenshot above, you can hover your mouse over the SSI distribution to see the percentage of stocks in the red zone for XLY or XLP.
